Secret of Evermore, because all the Mana games have recently been released, and this is a very unique game with a similarly-designed engine

Super Smash TV (especially if it comes with a way to use the Joycons in the 1 person with 2 controllers configuration)Īnd like all of the satellivision Picross games because why notįinal Fantasy Mystic Quest, because it's a short and easily 100%-able game with absolutely rockin' music designed to be an entry RPG for people new to the genre Rockman and Forte (I think this is still not on anything in the US but the GBA version?) Popful Mail (there's better versions, but I'd still play this) SNES (specifically not listing RPGs since everyone always mentions every single one on SNES in these threads): Tried to leave off licensed stuff and this is definitely not exhaustive of what I'd play on it if it showed up Going for other console libraries (maybe starting with GB) is the way forward here since if you take away the games tied up with third-party stuff, there's not a lot remaining in the SNES library unfortunately. SNES's strength was more in how much good third party support it had, but unfortunately that's now become a big weakness in the model Nintendo is using. Most of the third party games for SNES online have been for lesser tier/obscure companies that are defunct (Telenet, Data East, Jaleco), lack the resources to do anything major (Natsume), or are rare additions coming from a uniquely strengthened relationship (Capcom). Games of downright licensed properties (TMNT, The Flintstones, Mickey Mouse) that the property owners would just say no or provide no response for an SNES online release interesting policies on rights ownership for parts of its games (Dragon Quest music is an infamous example)Įarthbound, which is actually owned by Shigesato Itoi, and while Nintendo may want to re-release it, Itoi might not, and Nintendo might get in trouble if they go ahead with it Square Enix games, a company that's historically had. Most of the games I see suggested either are: The reality is most of the games named are tied up in difficult rights issues that, in the big picture, are not worth bothering with if it's only going to be used for SNES online (kinda like why a rerelease of Sonic 3 is not going to happen in the near future - Ice Cap's music would be an open-and-shut losing lawsuit for Sega).

Seeing what most of the requested games are in this topic, I agree with you that SNES online is probably tapped out at this point, at least for the most demanded titles.
